I would like to Thank my family for helping me throughout the years and for putting up with all of my mess :):):) I would also like to thank the many people who have helped in my education and helped me become skilled in these great hobbies. This is my 4th attempt at putting together a website, mainly concentrating on "what I looked for as a beginner and never found" as I jumped head first into machining. Hopefully this website can help you on your way to CNC machining and/or RC helicopters.

I started taking everything apart around the age of 7 or 8. The concept of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" just never stuck with me :) I started flying RC airplanes at the age of 13 with the help of my brothers and added RC helicopters about 5 years later. My love of aviation did not stop there! I obtained my single engine private license for real airplanes when I was 19, flying Cessna 152 and 182s. There is no other feeling like your first takeoff and landing!
I have always dreamed of learning the art of machining and began my adventure on April 25, 2000. The idea of being able to cut metal with precision fascinates me! I knew NOTHING about machining or what type of machines existed. Beginners, take it from me, it is very possible and this site proves it. I did not know what an endmill, gib, leadscrew, steppers, or anything of that stuff was. After much reading, I started with a manual mill and lathe, retrofitting my mill to CNC approximately 5 months later. With a GREAT deal of learning and MANY hours I built drivers, set up my stepper motors, learned the basics of G-Code, CAD, CAM, and then began the long process of actually learning how to machine!!
Every day I learn. Watching chips fly off aluminum, steel, brass, plastic, wax, etc. is great! The CNC machine, while more work, is just beautiful and to hear the stepper motors run is like smooth synchronized music! Watching the machine come to life is simply amazing.
