Practice Sign for the practice.

1st Cutter: 1/8" straight router bit (endmill does not work as it pulls the Formica top off)
2nD Cutter: 1/16" fishtail router
Spindle speed: High, probably around 15-20K
Sign Size: 14" x 28"
Cad Time: 2 hours (I had a hard time finding fonts I liked in order)
CAM Time: 10 min
Cut Time: 27 min and 30 min clean up.

Here is the setup. I used contact cement for the "Formica" top on Aspen wood.

Here is the start of the cuts. It is working well and very little splintering. High spindle speed.

More f the sign being cut. I just used clamps to hold the wood down on the table.

I changed bits using my bit changing technique and here are the smaller letters.

I love the font! Again, download fonts from

RECUT OF SMALL PARTS
The very small parts in the letters where broken away when the cutter came by. To fix this I recut just the middle parts and CAed them back on. Looks great

TO RELEASE THE SIGN
I used my table saw and cut the sign out right at the groove of the outer cut. I then used a FLUSH trim bit on the router with my router table to clean it up. Works every time!
