-Dremel Mount-

Finally, I have made a Dremel mount for my K2 router. There are many times I don't think I need to run the Porter Cable router. It is loud and most of my work is done at night (as you can tell :)
Here are the steps in my Dremel Mount.

Start: 9:30 pm      Done: 2:58 am!

Since I never have used the router attachment for my Dremel, I decided to use the "nut" from it. Here I am just cutting it to a length.

Superglue (yes, superglue) to aluminum and clamped in the Sherline vise. It can't get any simpler then that!

Here is the first cut, the hole for the round "nut" in the first picture. This way I don't mess up the threads on the Dremel.

The outer portion is being cut here. I used a 3.57 mm (9/64") endmill cutting 1 mm passes mostly dry (some WD-40 used)
4.jpg (103167 bytes)
All done!
5.jpg (98038 bytes)
Drilling out the hole for the clamping screw.
6.jpg (98571 bytes)
Since I never use my boring tool, I figured I'd give it a shot. Neat but not needed.
7.jpg (68227 bytes)
Here you go! I used a 1.58mm (1/16") fishtail router to do the little line...nice.
8.jpg (99433 bytes)
Same piece but now making the "base."
9.jpg (104758 bytes)
All done, drilling it out. The spacing for the K2 is 64mm. Inches? You do the math :)

Here you can see the mounting plate being flattened using the flycutter.
flatfly1.jpg (102915 bytes)
All done.. ready to go.

Full view. Tomorrow I will make a top support for it. Then it will be one NICE setup!
10.jpg (75785 bytes)
Here we are. Nice. I can sway it a little since the holder is still plastic. No play in the mount.

Close up.
UPDATE:
The quality of the Dremel is not up to par. The bearing mount and output shaft have way to much play. It's "ok" for wood, fine for light plastic and foam but for aluminum...no no.
